"We don’t have people that become ill, who die in their apartment because they don’t have insurance… We don’t have a setting across this country where if you don’t have insurance, we just say to you, ‘Tough luck, you’re going to die when you have your heart attack.’ No, you go to the hospital, you get treated, you get care, and it’s paid for, either by charity, the government or by the hospital."

Every once in a while, Kate Bush makes an appearance in pop culture, mythical creature that she is. Tonight was not an example of one of those appearances…

Kate Bush released this song via iTunes today, but it is not available in the U.S. In turn, this performance was broadcast overseas in a much longer version of the ceremonies that were chopped up by the time they hit U.S. shores. So basically, Kate was like, “Fuck the U.S.” and then the U.S. was like, “Who?” As usual.

“Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) (2012 Remix)” by Kate Bush // R.U.T.H. (Olympics Closing Ceremony) (2012)

The Olympic Closing Ceremony just got a little more awesome with the announcement of the inclusion of a remix of one of the best songs of all time, Kate Bush’s masterpiece “Running Up That Hill”. Originally it was reported that she herself might be performing the track during the Danny Boyle directed Closing Ceremony, but instead this new mix will be played to score a particular section of the event. At any rate, it’s always a good time to draw attention to the track because let’s face it, it’s absolutely stunning.

But not in the US. *sob*

Fuck you NBC.
